     Late one fall afternoon on November 19, 1919, a harbor launch departed Randall’s Island to patrol the Harlem River.
As the sky grew darker, near the 130^th Street Bridge, a tug boat crew found the police boat capsized in the river,
and discovered that Marine Division Patrolmen James Hughes and John McIntyre had drowned.
