New York Task Force 1, 9/11 Memorial Plaque Dedication september 9, 2026

The NY-TF1 Team will hold a 9/11 Memorial Plaque Dedication honoring the 51 NY-TF1 members who perished in the World Trade Center attacks.
The memorial plaque, bearing the names of our 51 fallen members, is mounted on a piece of World Trade Center steel and displayed at the NY-TF1 Home Base. Your contributions to this memorial are a testament to our promise: “We Will Never Forget.”
NYC-OEM asks that only current and former USAR Task Force members attend as space is limited.
Please complete the Attendance Survey below to let us know whether or not you will attend.  We kindly ask everyone to complete the survey, even if you are unable to attend. In addition to collecting RSVPs, the survey will help us update our records and build a current contact list for retired NY-TF1 members.

Location: NY-TF1 Home Base, 930 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn

Parking: Please enter the indoor parking lot at Evergreen Avenue and Noll Street.

Attire: NY-TF1 uniform or business casual
Lunch:  Will be provided.

2027 calendar has been cancelled. Only 4 people sent it pictures, of which 2 sent the same pictures a few years ago. I know of at least two members, (oops, sorry, one refuses to be a REMA member) that have tons of pictures but won’t send them. The lack of interest makes the creative process exponentially difficult. It’s a solid 3 weeks to select, edit, create and assemble the thing. I just don’t have the strength any longer.

Memorial mass for

Det. John D’allara

The annual 9/11 Memorial Mass for Police Officer John D’Allara, ESS 2, will be on  September 11, 2026. The Mass begins at 7AM on the morning of September 11th. Location is: St. Mary, Star of the Sea, City Island, NY. John’s brother Danny invites everyone to attend.

The annual Holy Rood Cemetery visits will continue this year. Meet at the burial plot of Thomas Langone located at the Memorial Statue between 0945 and 1000 hours

This time frame should give those that go to the truck ceremonies plenty of time to make it.
