MIKE McCRORY
The Emergency Service Unit has lost a one-of-a-kind legend, an icon of Squad One, an extraordinary and unique E-Man, and a loving father and husband. Mike McCrory epitomized every folk-lore tale told among comrades wearing the truck patch. A true cop’s cop, Mike relished wearing his NYPD, Eight-point uniform cap often at slight cant, to match his winning Irish smile and his rare sense of humor. Mike was old-school Emergency. He grew up and remained in Squad-1 among some of the most storied veterans such as Powers, O’Connor, Seaberg, Brannigan, Lynch and Flood, just to name a few. Mike was loved and lit up any room he occupied. He walked with giants and was one. As down-to -earth and unpretentious as every man values, Mike was at ease on the big one as well as at the quarters table. Genuine through and through, he was a man of God and Country who never hesitated to speak his mind and his heart. We loved you here Mike and we are honored to know that Almighty God has opened the Gates of Heaven to bring His brave warrior home for Eternal Peace and Love.
