PLATTDEUTSCHE PARK RESTAURANT

Our annual 9/11 REMA lunch was held on Thursday September 14th this year. We again held to tradition and had a wonderful buffet lunch at the Plattdeutsche Park Restaurant. Though attendance was low this year, the forty one members who attended had a wonderful time breaking bread with friends and co-workers, some haven’t attended a lunch in a very long time. Keeping the vow made many times over many years and decades to ‘Never Forget’, the group stood silently as the names of our 9/11 Heroes were read. We also recalled those member that had passed on since last September. 

After lunch was served the raffles were drawn, with the top prize being a 32″ TV door prize, just for showing up!  We also heard from Matt McCauly, Jeannie Kelly  and Steve Wallace who explained the benefits 9/11 First Responders are entitled to, and also dispelled a few rumors about some benefits. Quite a number of Responders and their families have lost out because they listened to locker room talk. If you’re not sure of something, ask the experts!
