2024 9/11 commemorations

We still honor our vow to “Never Forget”.

Numerous remembrances were held throughout the REMA community. From New Hampshire to North Carolina.

Retired REMA member Detective Frank DeMasi was the guest speaker in his town of Waxhaw, NC. Many were brought to tear by his emotional words.

New Hampshire Governor Christopher T. Sununu broke from his busy schedule to visit ESS Truck 2 in Harlem to spend time with family and friends of our Fallen Heroes.

On the other end of NYC, many gathered on Staten Island  to remember. Among those were retired Detective Tony Favara who read the names of the Fallen. Also on hand were: NYS Assemblyman Mike Tannousis, SI District Attorney Mike McMahon and Assistant DA and retired E-Man, ESS Tk 8, Tommy Ridges. Playing of Taps by retired Lt. Bob Prindle, on bagpipes retired Lt. Sean Flannagan and as singer, retired Sergeant Ken Sohmer. Many others that worked with those we are remembering were also in attendance.
